Application Overview
Key information about the ASE application process.
Requirements
We welcome applicants from all backgrounds studying in higher education institutions in the USA. If you’re proactive, intellectually curious, ambitious, creative, and ready to immerse yourself in a new community and connect with a wide range of perspectives, ASE’s Summer School is for you.
Our academic programmes involve small, discussion-based classes, so places are strictly limited. We encourage you to apply and submit your documents as soon as possible, as applications are reviewed and places offered on a 'rolling' basis.
Summer Deadline: Monday, February 15, 2027
Application Accepted
Once your application is accepted, we’ll email you an acceptance package including:
Your acceptance letter
Invoice for a non-refundable deposit
Balance of fees (where applicable)
Pre-arrival information booklet
Pre-arrival forms
Onboarding Process
Around seven weeks before the start of the semester, you’ll be invited to our Student Portal for the onboarding process. The ASE team will provide information, including housing and class allocations, as well as timetables.

Home College Financial Aid
Students receiving financial aid through their colleges MUST provide notification in writing from their financial office, guaranteeing the allocation of their financial aid, together with an indication of when these fees can be expected, and from whom ASE may expect payment. Without this notification, ASE cannot guarantee to hold a place for a student on financial aid.
Refunds policy
Summer 2027
Any student withdrawing in writing by the fee payment deadline of April 1 will receive a refund of fees already paid, minus deposit.
Any student withdrawing in writing after the fee payment deadline of April 1 may appeal for a refund of fees minus non-recoverable expenses and deposit. All appeals will be considered by the ASE Dean and Director, in concert with Programme leadership at Franklin & Marshall College.
Only for well-documented, serious emergencies or medical problems will ASE consider a modification of the policies described above. All appeals will be decided by the Programme Director.
In the unlikely event of Programme cancellation by ASE, or withdrawal of support for Summer study by the student’s home institution, participants will be offered the option either of joining a future ASE Summer School, or of receiving a full refund, including deposit and any fees already paid.
“Studying abroad with ASE was the best decision I've ever made. The experience was life-changing!”
